Surrounded by pine forested hills and impressive red rock formations lies the sandy cove of Cala Salada and neighbouring smaller beach cala Saladita, just 15 mins from San Antonio.
Perfect Clear water
The sparkling turquoise water is shallow and perfect for swimming with a sea bed which is mostly soft white sand, this beach could rival the Caribbean.
How to get there
Reached by bus, car, campervan or water taxi. In Summer from 1 June – 30 September it gets so busy that the road is closed from 10h-18h so you need to come super early to get through. Get up early drive in and park your lovey van up with a view and enjoy a full day here!
Mini bus service
If you’re staying at the San Antonio campsite and you would prefer to get a water taxi or a mini bus you can do! In these months there is a mini-bus service from 9.30 h to 20.30 h from the San Antonio bus station with a stop at the Can Coix sports centre and a ferry service from the port of San Antonio. (See information in Spanish on www.santantoni.net.)
There is a beach restaurant (simply called Cala Salada) at the far corner of the beach which is extremely popular with the locals and great for traditional dishes like seafood paella. It also has a kiosk for grabbing quick ice creams and cold drinks to take away.
Homemade Mojitos & Empanadas
You must be sure to try the yummy homemade empanadas served on the beach, the best we’ve ever tasted, flaky pastry and yummy fillings of cheese, spinach, tuna or chicken. Perfect washed down with homemade mojitos mixed and shaked with fresh fruit of your choice and lots of free hand pouring of rum! Be prepared to wobble off the beach!
