As you pull up to each of the campsites in Ibiza in your classic campervan, it does feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Which makes all the vans feel right at home! Each campsite is basic, but oozes charm and character and that’s why everyone loves them so much.
Why do you need to stay in a campsite?
Swimming in clear turquoise water and catching rays all day can take it out of you! At the end of the day, all you want is a hot shower, wash all that sand off and get ready for the evening. Right? Well you can at 5 different campsites dotted around the island all with fantastic facilities.

If you want a want a hippy camping experience right on the beach,this is the campsite for you! Located in the North of the island the campsite is also surrounded by lots of bars, restaurants and the famous hippy market is a just 5-minute stroll! Camping la Playa campsite is a chilled, bohemian colourful campsite with a great atmosphere and lots of friendly characters.
What to expect
The campsite is made up of different sections for campervans, tents, bungalows, vintage caravans and tepees! Made up of pine trees, perfect to shade the van from the intense rays of the sun! Expect to find live music 3 times a week played from the ‘beach bar that serves cold beers, cocktails and tasty homemade food. How about breakfast on the beach? Followed by a bike ride (hire bikes in the campsite) do morning yoga, or watch the sunset. This is a vibrant, fun campsite perfect for families, couples, or groups of friends.

2.Cala Bassa (campingcalabassa.com/)
And …. Relax
If you like peace and quiet this is the campsite for you. Think old school 70s type campsite and you get my drift. Expect to find camping plots, mobile homes and Bengali tents. On-site facilities include a bar-restaurant, a children’s playground, hot showers, toilets, and communal washing and cooking areas. Located in the West of the island this is great little campsite walking distance from one of the most stunning beaches in Ibiza, cala bassa.
Cala Bassa Beach Club
Cala bassa is lined with chic beach clubs, you can get almost any type of food or drink here, and there is usually a DJ mixing some cool Ibizan beats. You can walk here from the campsite through a dusty little path. Set yourself up with the all important beach package provided by IBIZAbugz which includes a beach blanket, beach towels, coolbox, parasol and full face snorkels. You can easily spend all day here, subathe, snorkel, or take part in some water sports. The perfect beach for families, couples, and groups of friends.

3.San Antonio Campsite (camping-sanantonio.com)
San Antonio is located in the South Western part of Ibiza. This campsite is perfect to use as a base to explore the countryside of San Mateau, pretty Cala Gracio, Cala Salada, and the famous Pikes Hotel, which is only a 10 minute drive – A must see!
If you are craving some nightlife San Antonio is perfect. Full of shops, bars & restaurants you will be spoilt for choice. Dress up for the world famous sunset at Café Mambos. Or just relax opposite the marina in one of the many bars and watch the world go by.
The campsite includes a bar-restaurant, lovely big swimming pool, hot showers, toilets and you can also hire bikes if you wish! Although this campsite is based in San An which has a reputation for its colourful nightlife. The campsite owner ensures that there is a no noise policy after midnight, so you can still get your beauty sleep!

Located in the eastern region of the island. Near to the Cala Nova campsite you find a variety of unique beaches such as Cala Nova, Cala Llenya, Cala Mastella or Cala Boix.
Camping Cala Nova is a peaceful, friendly campsite, built and run by the same family since it opened in 1984!! It is in a beautiful part of the island, Cala Nova beach which has fine sand and crystal-clear water and is surrounded by pine trees and an ecologically-protected area of sand dunes. The campsite is only 50m from the beach, and has plenty of shade which is great in the peak season heat.

5.Es Cana Campsite (www.campingescana.com)
Shaded by lots of Pine trees
Es Cana is perfect for families, couples and groups. With lots of shade under the Mediterranean pine trees, it’s a quiet place with a relaxed atmosphere. The campsite is in the residential area of Es cana, a few kilometres from Santa Eulalia a pretty seaside town. It’s a fab location as the beach is less than 300m away! Just a short stroll from the campsite you will also find bars, restaurants, and shops.
The campsite has excellent facilities including a swimming pool, poolside bar, and children’s playground area, hot showers, toilets and communal cooking areas.
